On July 7, the groundbreaking ceremony of the LESSO Industrial Base was held in the Jiulong Industrial Park in Longjiang, Shunde, Foshan. The total investment of the project is 6 billion yuan and the planned construction area is about 300,000 square meters, which shall bring great vitality into the new energy industry in the Greater Bay Area and facilitate the high-quality development of the Greater Bay Area.
Relevant directors of municipal, district, and township government departments, WONG Luen Hei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of LESSO, ZUO Manlun, Executive Director and CEO of LESSO, HUANG Jinchao, Vice President of LESSO and President of Guangdong Lesso New Energy Technology Group Co., Ltd. and other leaders and guests attended the ceremony and witnessed this important historical moment.
We will establish new goals from a new starting point! The construction of the LESSO industrial Base is a significant turning point in the development history of LESSO, marking a new step forward in the new energy industry. HUANG Jinchao, Vice President of LESSO and President of Guangdong Lesso New Energy Technology Group Co., Ltd. stated at the ceremony that the new base will help in achieving the corporate vision of “being the most valuable new energy group in the world” and contribute to the grand goal of carbon neutrality.
Mr.WONG Luen Hei delivered a speech about his future vision and plan at the ceremony. In the context of fierce competition in the current photovoltaic industry, he stated that LESSO will acquire comprehensive capabilities in different fields ranging from upstream silicon to midstream crystal slice, cell processing, terminal photovoltaic module production, and sales, as well as promote industrial layout and industrial chain integration. He anticipated that more new energy industries and supply chains would be developed in the future at the new base, covering the entire industry supply chain, ranging from battery materials to energy storage and inverter products.
Currently, the new energy industry is in a critical moment, and has become a competitive industry with global competitiveness, massive potential and a promising market. Taking it as a new opportunity, LESSO aims to be a new energy group integrating R&D, production, sales and service, focuses on solar power generation and energy storage, and provides photovoltaic products, energy storage products, energy project investment and engineering services for various application scenarios. In just one and a half years, through upgrading and transforming the original industrial space and increasing investment in the photovoltaic industry, LESSO has increased the output value by more than 40 times compared to the same period last year.
LESSO industrial base, located in Jiulong Industrial Park in Longjiang, is an effort to seize the development opportunities and further expand the development of related industrial chain. The project will feature new energy materials, new energy equipment and new energy applications, and will be made a production headquarters base with a capacity of about 10GW photovoltaic cells and 5GW photovoltaic modules. The base will be built in two phases. The first phase will be put into production in 2024 and the second in 2025. Upon completion, the output value of the project will exceed 12 billion yuan.
During project preparation, party committees and government departments of Foshan, Shunde District, and Longjiang had attached great importance to this project. With government support, leaders of Longjiang had carried out many themed meetings, and worked together for land transfer and facility construction. The speed and efficiency of Longjiang has been witnessed from project approval to official project commencement, which provides powerful guarantee for smooth project settlement.
As LESSO’s first athlete on the new racing track, the New Energy Industrial Base shall attract more new energy industries in the Greater Bay Area and bring new vitality for regional economic development. At the same time, it will also strongly promote energy transformation and urban environmental development of the Greater Bay Area, trigger further development of relevant industrial chains, further enhance the development of the energy industry and market influence of the Area, and facilitate healthy and rapid development of regional economy.
