LESSO Solar Achieves First N-Type i-TOPCon Solar Cell Production

March 16 marked an important milestone for LESSO Solar as the first N-type i-TOPCon solar cell successfully rolled off the production line at its solar cell manufacturing base in Jiangmen, Guangdong, China. The achievement signals the official transition of the facility into the mass production stage and represents a key step in LESSO Solar’s continued expansion into the core segment of the high-efficiency photovoltaic industry chain.

The solar cell base is an important part of LESSO Solar’s upstream manufacturing strategy and a key new energy project in the region. Covering approximately 120,000 square meters, the facility integrates a range of advanced production systems, including monocrystalline groove texturing equipment, fully automated wafer loading machines, and robotic handling and transfer systems. Equipped with multiple industry-leading automated production lines, the base has an annual production capacity of 6GW of N-type solar cells, enabling large-scale and high-efficiency manufacturing.

The first batch of cells produced are N-type i-TOPCon 210N high-efficiency solar cells, one of the most advanced technologies in the photovoltaic industry today. Thanks to its superior passivated contact performance, i-TOPCon technology has quickly become a mainstream solution for next-generation high-efficiency solar cells.

The facility will manufacture solar cells in two mainstream formats: 182.2mm × 183.75mm and 210mm × 210mm, meeting the evolving needs of global markets and supporting a wide range of photovoltaic module designs.

Looking ahead, LESSO Solar will continue strengthening the synergy between its solar cell and module manufacturing bases, accelerating the development of an integrated renewable energy industry layout.
