Nairobi, Kenya – August 6, 2026 – LESSO Solar made a strong impression at the 2026 Kenya International Solar Expo (July 29–31), showcasing our high-efficiency PV modules and off-grid home solar systems. Our booth drew steady crowds of industry players and regional distributors, reflecting growing demand for reliable clean energy solutions across East Africa.
During the expo, LESSO Solar signed a strategic partnership with Equity Bank, Kenya's largest bank by customer base and a leader in East African financial services. The collaboration introduces a "solar-plus-finance" model designed to make home solar systems more affordable for Kenyan households.
Equity Bank offers consumer loans specifically for LESSO Solar's residential off-grid systems. Families can purchase the system through flexible installments, eliminating the need for a one-time payment of 191,000 KES – a significant barrier for many rural and low-income customers.
Equity Bank operates more than 300 branches and thousands of agents across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Sudan, and the DRC, with deep reach into rural communities and long-standing expertise in microfinance.
This partnership is about making clean energy accessible to more families. By combining LESSO Solar's reliable PV technology with Equity Bank's extensive network and inclusive finance capabilities, more households can take the first step toward energy independence.
This collaboration represents a new step in LESSO Solar's engagement with the African market. We look forward to deepening our local partnerships and exploring more opportunities in off-grid and commercial solar segments to support the continent's sustainable energy transition.
